TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER

WHO WE ARE

"FROM EACH ACCORDING TO THEIR ABILITY, TO EACH ACCORDING TO THEIR NEEDS"

Feeding Fenelon is a secular, volunteer run, non-governmental, non-profit organization with a mission to support those in our community facing the multitude of difficulties that arise in our lives when living in a capitalist system. Our community is the heart of everything we do and we strive to provide support in as many different ways as we can.

We believe in Solidarity, not Charity.

Our organization is entirely volunteer run from the top down to ensure that every dollar donated will go directly into the work we do for the community. While we have a board of directors, and are a registered non-profit, we operate as a non-hierarchically structured organization. Our small yet mighty team of volunteers are the backbone of everything Feeding Fenelon does.

Every Tuesday we offer a free meal at Lotus Indian Bistro in Fenelon Falls. Our meals are free, healthy, prepared in a professional kitchen under the supervision of a professional chef, and available to anyone who is hungry. At our meals we have set up a "Take what you need" table with toiletries, personal care products, soap, etc as well as a "People's Pantry" with various food items available for anyone to take. Unlike other organizations we do not ask for any personal information or proof of income to access our services. If you are able to make a donation we greatly appreciate it but money will never be a barrier to accessing support at Feeding Fenelon. If you are unable to join us for dine-in we also offer free delivery within Fenelon Falls.

In addition to our free community meals we have a program called "Lunches for Langton" for which we have partnered with Langton Elementary School in order for our team to provide a set amount of children with free, healthy, brown bag lunches every day of the week.

We believe that access to healthy food is a basic human right.

Feeding Fenelon has also partnered with Community Care Kawartha Lakes to bring the Good Food Box to Fenelon Falls. The Good Food Box is an affordable monthly food box full of fresh produce that is open to anyone in the community to order. Each box is $20.00 cash or cheque and can be picked up on the third Tuesday of each month.

Aside from food related supports we will also soon be an official distribution point for Naloxone and harm reduction kits through a collaboration with PARN and the Kawartha Lakes Haliburton Pine Ridge District Health Unit. Harm reduction saves lives and we are proud to be able to offer these supports to our community. In the meantime we are working with the John Howard Society of Kawartha Lakes & Haliburton to bring these life saving materials to our community.

We also collect tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, winter jackets, warm socks, gloves, winter hats, blankets, etc that is then distributed through the JHS in Lindsay to unhoused people and the most vulnerable in our community facing the coming winter.

If you or someone you know is in need, please reach out to us, we are always here to help.

Feeding Fenelon relies on the support of community members like you to continue our work. Your donation can help us provide meals to those in need and offer support services to our community. Every dollar counts and makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our mission. Whether you can help prepare meals, deliver food, or offer your skills in other ways, we welcome your support. If you are interested in volunteering please email us.
